Purse fans, rejoice! The Hamptons Handbag Festival is back for its second year, clutching (purse puns!) the hearts of accessory devotees all over the East End.
Held on Sunday, June 14 at the East Hampton American Legion Post 419 (15 Montauk Highway), the event features a Birkin bag’s worth of a who’s who in handbags, as well as some pretty interesting presentations as well.

At 11 a.m., check out the talk “Arm Candy: A Passion for Fashion” from author Ilene Hochberg, who is the proud owner of the world’s largest handbag collection (that we know of), with over 9,000 and counting among them, presented in her traveling museum show, “Pursesonality.” The, at 1 p.m., join Ann Fristoe Stewart, curator of the Leiber Collection (the private East Hampton museum that holds the bespoke handbags of Judith Lieber and the artwork of her husband, Gerson Leiber) for her presentation on the fascination life and times of the Liebers.
And, of course, around and in between the presentations will be a world of bags, from 15 handbag vendors in all touting designer, vintage, one-of-a-kind and high-end luxury bags. Among the vendors bestowing their wares:
