For nearly five decades, Montauk’s Fall Fest has ushered in autumn, serving as the hamlet’s unofficial goodbye to the summer season. This Saturday and Sunday, the tradition continues.
Fall Fest — the 45-year-old annual tradition co-presented by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce and Visit Montauk — is beloved by locals and visitors alike, offering a chance for community members to not only enjoy the physical beauty of autumn in Montauk, but a unique chance for folks to visit (and ultimately, support) local businesses before a good chunk of them pack up for the season.

“We’re thrilled to bring Fall Fest back for its 45th year and to celebrate this wonderful Montauk tradition with our community,” says Rachael Corsi, executive director of the Montauk Chamber of Commerce and Visit Montauk. “This year, we’re really leaning into everything we love about fall — pumpkins, harvest activities, great local food, music and, most importantly, spending time together. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience Montauk in a different season and support the people that make our destination so special.”
Activities for this weekend will include a clam chowder contest (on Saturday only, set to start at 10 a.m.), a kid’s bounce house, pumpkin decorating, live musical performances, food, beer and wine from several East End purveyors, vendors from the farmers market, face painting, hands-on fall-themed activities, crafts and games, and a silent auction.
“Fall is such a special time on the East End, and Fall Fest is a great way to cap off that experience in Montauk,” says Corsi. “Whether you’re coming for the food, the activities, the music or simply to enjoy a beautiful fall weekend by the ocean, there’s something for everyone.”
Fall Fest is this Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days on the Village Green in downtown Montauk. Click here for more information.
