We’re all for supporting our fellow (hu)man. And this weekend in the Hamptons, that sentiment reigns true as a handful of locales aim to assist others through the best way they know how: throwing a party.

A special event to help those affected by Hurricane Melissa (the third most intense Atlantic hurricane on record that devastated Jamaica and parts of Cuba) is at Sagaponack Farm Distillery tonight. On Saturday, the newly formed series Sag Saturdays kicks off in Sag Harbor, a community-wide effort set to give locals good fun (and good deals) during the off-season months.

It’s the giving season, folks. So, please don’t forget to donate to your local food pantries, coat drives and other charities, if you can swing it.

Remember what Winston Churchill said: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
