Almond in Bridgehampton holds a very special place in my heart. It was the last restaurant I ever worked at and, in my humble opinion, it remains as a leading example of for the often-fickle and difficult-to-navigate Hamptons’ hospitality world.

Earlier this month, co-owners and childhood friends Eric Lemonides and chef Jason Weiner celebrated their 25th year of serving seasonally driven, locally sourced, and always artisanal fare while carefully considering the needs of their guests. More often than not, their guests are their friends.

It’s the sort of place that not only serves awesome food, but challenges certain dining norms, separating it from most other restos found around these parts.

Take a listen to my story on how Almond started out, how it’s evolved since, and the people that work and frequent there have made it what it is today.
