Ennui doesn’t look good on you. You know what does? Cute clothes and accessories. If they’re from the City of Lights, all the better.

Starting this week, the Paris-based brand Sézane will be taking up residence at LDV at The Maidstone (207 Main St., East Hampton, 631-324-5006) with its summery stylings chock-a-block with breezy dresses, colorful straw bags, sandals and a gold mine of other gamine treasures, including popular items like their Will jacket in suede and the kid mohair/alpaca Gaspard cardigan, both great for nighttime clam bakes and beach strolls. Also on hand: their popular Justine basket bag.

In addition to summery stock-ups, Sézane’s popular Justine bag (far right) will also be on hand in limited quantities. (Photos courtesy of Marisa Vitale and Sézane)

Even better than the whole Parisian flare situation, Sézane items are, ahem, fairly priced, all things considered. Items like dresses tend to run at or under $200, and despite their low-key style offer nice details that won’t have you looking like you went shopping in the same place as, well, everyone else. The price also comes with a guarantee that the factories where the clothes are made (mostly in Europe) comply with ethical labor standards and they also use recycled packaging.

The company, launched in 2013 by founder Morgane Sézalory, was the first Parisian brand to do so online only, removing the brick-and-mortar expense (and, honestly, the whack-a-mole world of dealing with commercial property landlords). This past year, she also introduced Petit Sézane, a kids’ line of stylish, casual clothes, too.

Speaking of kids, Sézalory also has added to her mission statement a philanthropic program called DEMAIN (tomorrow, in French), raising over €10 million to support charities working toward creating an equitable future for children, teens and the adults who care for them. So when you buy, you’re supporting a company that’s in it to win it for everyone. Cool stuff.

The pop-up, which runs through Sunday, July 27, will be in LDV at The Maidstone’s sweet little retail cottage Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
