House proud
This newly completed home by WDD (Watkins Design and Development) is a study in high-quality finishes and chic comfort. All throughout, pretty oak wood tones and a warm neutral palette provide a harmonious place to relax and lay your head. But the open layout, generous outdoor space and plethora of amenities make this an ideal home for entertaining, too.
“The house separates itself from a lot of the ‘spec’ home inventory,” says William Schumann, the Douglas Elliman agent representing the listing. “The overall approach was much more about execution and that shows in the quality of craftsmanship, materials and the thoughtful layout.”

Though large, at nearly 6,000 square feet, Schumann says the house is not overwhelming. “It has really nice proportions and everything has a purpose – there’s no wasted space.”
What’s the plan?
The home is entered through a covered entry that leads into a light-filled foyer with double-height windows and a handsome custom staircase. The back of the house is devoted to the open format design for the kitchen, dining and living room. A gas fireplace wall made of Venetian plaster and with pocket doors separates the space from a den: all three areas have sliding doors to the back covered patio, which features travertine pavers and a two-sided gas fireplace. The guest bedroom on this level is ensuite with a walk-in closet. Two ensuite bedrooms of near-equal size share the second level with the large primary bedroom, which offers access to a flexible home office space/lounge. The spa bathroom includes a soaking tub, and all three bathrooms have skylights. The lower level is finished, with a large flexible entertainment/lounge space and lighted wet bar, a fitness area, two bedrooms and a shared bath with a steam shower and sauna.
What’s cooking?
The custom-drafted kitchen’s center island is a work/prep station with a dishwasher and sink and seats six. Floor to ceiling oak cabinetry lines one side, housing the refrigerator and pantry space. The custom cabinets are topped with Dekton by Cosentino counters and finished with brass hardware.
The developer chose Bertazzoni for the refrigerator and dishwasher, but the crown jewel in the kitchen is the La Cornue range, well known in French chef’s kitchens, each made by hand in France. Off the kitchen is a powder room, which gives access to the pool room/shower, and in the other direction, is a hallway mudroom with a large closet, hooks and a bench.
What else?
The garage has been prepped for an EV charger.

One cool thing (or two)
The three bedrooms on the second floor access the roof deck overlooking the back yard, and have custom cedar planting boxes in between the rooms so each has its own private veranda, and giving the space a true hospitality feel.

Agent’s callout
“This is a real neighborhood with private associations, multiple deeded [water] access points and community beaches, and has no through traffic. It’s its own community unto itself—a special enclave that will continue to see values rise.” Schumann added that the developer, who lives in the neighborhood, “wanted to put his stamp on this house and show what this neighborhood could be,” Schumann says.
Location, location, location
Schumann calls the location in Northwest Woods “village fringe,” noting East Hampton’s shopping and dining are less than three miles away. Also nearby are LongHouse Reserve, which offers 16 acres of sculpture, installation art and gardens in addition to public programming; the East Hampton Village Nature Trail and Wildlife Sanctuary, and the East Hampton Golf Club and the Three Mile Harbor Marina.
