It’s hands-down one of our favorite big Hamptons summer events. Now in its 20th year, Author’s Night is part East Hampton Library fundraiser, part book lover’s paradise. With some of the most exciting names in fiction and non all under one tent in Herrick Park, this annual page-turner of a festival is the chance to meet and greet your favorite writers (a whopping 100 of them!), get them to sign your beloved books and maybe even get a little intel on what plot twists are up and coming.

So for our August edition of Feed Your Read, we thought… well, who better to check in with than the Author’s Night Committee and what they’re excited about reading from this year’s event, be they classic must-haves or new and noteworthy tomes. Here’s what they had to say:

To Infinity and Beyond: A Journey of Cosmic Discovery by Neil deGrasse Tyson

“I’m looking forward to welcoming back celebrated astrophysicist—and Authors Night fan favorite—Neil deGrasse Tyson! In his enthralling new book, he brings the universe down to earth with his signature easy-to-understand style and wit.” — Amy Levin Schaeffer

Medgar and Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America by Joy-Ann Reid

“I’m thrilled to welcome Joy-Ann Reid to Authors Night, where she’ll be signing her new book Medgar & Myrlie, a riveting exploration of the lives and legacies of civil rights activists Medgar Evers and Myrlie Evers-Williams. As MSNBC’s renowned journalist and host of The Reid Out, Joy consistently delivers sharp analysis and thought-provoking, lively, and fact-based discussions. I’m eager to hear her insights on this present and critical period in American history.” — Denise Shaw

Feeding Creativity: A Cookbook for Friends and Family by Mary McCartney

“We’re all so excited that Mary McCartney will be joining us at Authors Night. The gorgeous photos in this cookbook were shot mostly in England, where she lives a good part of the year.  It is filled with fun anecdotes and delicious recipes that can be enjoyed by vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Be sure to give them a try.”  — Sheila Rogers

My Life in Recipes: Food, Family, and Memories by Joan Nathan

“What better way to spend a beautiful summer weekend than preparing and eating many of the tempting recipes from the Queen of Jewish cooking, Joan Nathan? Sweets and savories alike are intermingled with memories of her life in the center of this stage. It is a joy to read and eat one’s way through My Life in Recipes.” — Jane Friedman

Find a Way: The Inspiring Story of One Woman’s Pursuit of a Lifelong Dream by Diana Nyad

“I’m looking forward to meeting the legendary Diana Nyad and getting a personalized, signed copy of her memoir Find a Way. I loved the Netflix film starring Annette Benning that was based on this book, so I can’t wait to meet this inspirational icon in person!” — Keri Lamparter
