This Valentine’s Day, ditch the generic box of chocolates and opt for a seemingly better, more personal and practically home-made sweet treat for that special someone.

Starting today, Levain Bakery is offering limited edition cookie tins and cookie grams as customized edible gifts just in time for next week’s V-Day.

For the first time ever, the Wainscott location of the Manhattan-born bakery will offer Valentine’s-themed tins to spruce up cookie bundles and gift boxes containing the giant, 6-ounce confections. Additionally, the cookie gram — a festively packaged single-cookie gift box — will be available for purchase, offering an oh-so-cute, tasty little treat.

According to a press release from Levain, each tin will hold up to eight of the bakery’s distinct, crispy-on-the-outside, gooey-on-the-inside cookies. Flavors are chocolate heavy (thank goodness!) and include two-chip chocolate chip, caramel coconut chocolate chip, dark chocolate peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and the one that started it all, the OG chocolate chip walnut, to name a few.

There are also vegan, gluten-free options available and you can customize whichever combo you’d like here. The cookie tin bundles start at $64 and the special V-Day-themed tin is an additional $15. There are also à la carte cookie options available.

Looking for a good thing that comes in a small package? Consider Levain’s cookie grams, “reminiscent of the classic candy grams of our youth,” the press release says, available for V-Day and costing $5 per cookie plus just a buck for the special heart-themed packaging.

The tins will be sold at all Levain locations for pick-up and local delivery exclusively through DoorDash, and are also available for national shipping on the website. The cookie grams are exclusive to DoorDash and local delivery.

Levain Bakery was opened in 1995 by competitive swimmers/triathletes and baking enthusiasts Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald. The pair, who ended up talking more about baking than athletics, opened their flagship location on the Upper West Side in Manhattan, originally starting out baking bread and naming the business after the French word for the natural leavening agent made of flour, water and wild yeasts: “levain.” A short time later, they created their signature, easy-to-recognize cookie and have since opened a dozen other locations across the nation.

Levain Bakery’s Wainscott location is at 354 Montauk Highway. Call 631-604-1423.
