“We’re thrilled to offer our Hamptons customers the best of the best, and grow our community even more with the coolest kicks around,” said Le Closet co-owner Arielle Haller-Silverstone via a press release.

Haller-Silverstone is good with timing: The Sneaker Room’s spring send-up coincides with the theatrical release of Air, the Ben Affleck-directed movie about sneaker marketing genius, Sonny Vaccaro, who had a slam dunk leading the charge to connect Nike with Michael Jordon. “Sonny Vaccaro is such an inspiration for us,” continued Haller-Silverstone. The movie, which sees buddies Affleck and Matt Damon (starring as Vaccaro) back on the big screen together, also happens to be showing this week at both the Regal UA East Hampton and Sag Harbor Cinema.

While cryptocurrency investments may be giving you pause these days, the ever-growing luxury market for sneakers shows no signs of flat-tiring. According to the market research organization, Future Market Insights, designer sneakers clocked in at nearly $183 billion in 2022. That’s some deep tread.

At this weekend’s kicks kick-off, Le Closet will have both men’s and women’s shoes from sizes 5 to 13 (the latter for guys), and over 150 pairs of brand-new Jordan 1s, 3s and 4s, Nike Mids and Dunks. And if that’s not curated enough, Haller-Silverstone is happy to do special orders, too.

Le Closet was Haller-Silverstone’s Hail Mary after losing her job during Covid. She had an eye for both popular and enduring designer and vintage fashion and started dabbling in selling gently used clothes and shoes online. It snowballed, and Le Closet was born. Now, with her current business partner, Nicole Schumann, fashion-forward retail romp is a regular brick-and-mortar, year-round store in both Manhattan and Southampton.

Check out Le Closet’s sneaker room daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting this Saturday. The early bird gets the Jordans!
