Back when I was growing up on Shelter Island, the old Kraus’s (now Sunset Beach) used to have reggae shows in the parking lot across from Crescent Beach. Those were some of the most fun nights I remember of my summertime youth, dancing like there was nothing to be tired about and like the night would never end. The only thing that would have made those nights even better? Rum punch (well, even if I wasn’t quite old enough to drink it…).
Enter the wonderful Sí Sí at EHP Marina and Resort. They recently launched their Reggae Sundays where, from 6 to 9 p.m. every week, the seaside spot overlooking Three Mile Harbor will be hosting a different reggae band to groove to — and some pretty fun rum cocktails to go with.
It’s well-worth heading over for and pretty nice way to end the week during your endless summer (and certainly a way to make it feel like the latter). The good folks at Sí Sí were kind enough to share their Rum Punch recipe with us this week. Mix one up tonight and, on Sunday, head on over to 295 Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road and get the real deal. Happy Summer, friends.
