Sculpt with a pro this August at The Pearl popup in the Hamptons.

The female-forward wellness club founded by former captain of the Knicks City Dancers, Marcella Hymowitz, will be traveling out east from the Upper East Side health and wellness club for eight sculpt classes.

Hymowitz will lead each class priced at $55, including Hip Hop Sculpt every Tuesday in August and Dance Cardio Sculpt every Thursday in August at Wave (15B Hill St., Southampton, 631-800-4223). She’ll also bring her dance-forward modality to Post House (31 Long Island Ave., Sag Harbor) on Aug. 16 and 29.

We asked Marcella to tell us more about The Pearl to prepare South Forkers for the upcoming exercise opportunity.

SF: What makes The Pearl unique from other exercise concepts?

MH: The Pearl is unique because we aren’t built around just one workout or one type of member. We offer everything from strength training, mat Pilates, sculpt, dance cardio, shuffle, disco and arms and abs classes for adults, to workout classes for teens and dance, cheer and acro programs for girls. We also bring some of the best fitness concepts under one roof partnering with instructors and brands like Isaac Boots, The Sculpt Society, KKSWEAT and DanceBody so our members don’t have to choose just one style of movement.

What really makes us different, though, is that we’re a true multigenerational community. Girls, teens and women of all ages can all find their place at The Pearl. It’s not just somewhere you come to work out, it’s somewhere you come to belong.

SF: What was training like for you as a Knicks City Dancer?

MH: I danced for the Knicks City Dancers from 2001 to 2006 and it was one of the most physically demanding experiences of my life. We rehearsed constantly, but what happened outside of rehearsals was just as important. I was always taking dance classes to stay current with new styles, practicing yoga for flexibility and recovery and strength training with lighter weights to build lean muscle and definition. We had to be game-ready every single night. It taught me discipline, consistency and that great performers aren’t made during rehearsals alone — it’s everything you do when no one is watching that makes the difference.

SF: How does your experience as a Knicks City Dancer translate into classes by The Pearl?

MH: Probably more than people realize. My cardio classes are designed to make everyone feel like they’re part of the performance, whether they’ve danced before or not. I break choreography down in a way that’s approachable, so by the end of class people are doing things they never thought they could. That feeling of accomplishment and confidence is exactly what I loved about performing and now I get to give that feeling to other women.

Even in my strength classes, my dance background influences everything I do. I choreograph movements to the music, layering combinations and compound exercises so people are never just going through the motions. They’re working their bodies and their brains at the same time, which keeps classes fun, engaging and surprisingly effective.

SF: With a variety of workout options in the Hamptons, what about The Pearl will appeal to the specific audience out east?

MH: There are so many amazing workout options out east, but I think a lot of people tend to find one thing they like and stick with it. The Pearl is for people who still want to get a great workout in, lift weights, and feel strong, but who also want to step outside their comfort zone and try something different. Our classes have incredible playlists, feel fun, freeing and energizing. You leave having challenged yourself physically, but you also leave smiling, feeling accomplished and maybe discovering a side of yourself you didn’t even know was there.

SF: What are you most looking forward to about expanding The Pearl’s reach?

MH: Watching the community grow. The workouts are important, but what excites me most is seeing women and girls find confidence through movement and then watching those friendships form. If we can create that feeling in more places, that’s really the dream.
