Earth Day and Arbor Day are coming up on April 22 and April 24, respectively. And with all the lovely Earth pics that have been coming at us from the Artemis II voyage showing some pretty great views of our Big Blue Marble, we’ve got blue on the brain, and wanting to keep it that way.
Bombay Sapphire has launched a cool campaign this month in conjunction with 1 Hotels. All April, every 1 Hotel location in the states will be shaking up the Blue Horizon and, for each drink purchased, plant a tree in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Pretty cool, right? The color comes from spirulina, a natural edible algae with an amazing blue hue.
And fitting, as gin is that most botanical of spirits. If you’re traveling soon, and can grab a seat at the bar of any of 1 Hotel’s stateside locations (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hollywood, Miami, Nashville, San Francisco, Seattle and Kaua’i), you can sip and feel good about your order until April runs out. Not traveling? Then why not donate to one of our awesome local keep-it-green organizations, like the Sag Harbor Tree Fund, whose commitment to planting and replanting the lovely streets of the old whaling village keeps us in shade and and reward yourself with this lovely cocktail for doing some good in the world.
