Get oceanside and make an Oceanside! (Photo courtesy of Gray Whale Gin)

When the heat is as punishing as it’s been the last week, the ocean is definitely the place you want to be. And lucky for us, we’ve got plenty of it to spread a blanket near and dip into.

But you’ll need a couple of things:

  1. a really great cocktail for a group (because you need to bring friends, right?)
  2. some beach and said cocktail accoutrements

Our friends over at Gray Whale gin have just the thing. This summer, via ReserveBar, they’re offering a handy-dandy little summer sip-and-lounge Summer Refreshment kit featuring a bottle of Gray Whale, a 32 oz. acrylic (aka, it won’t break!) pitcher that, cute, looks like a whale and a 50″x70″ Turkish cotton Sand Cloud beach towel with cute little tassels on the ends, to keep the sand around you and not on you. Bonus: a portion of all purchases go toward ocean conservation, which it seems we could super-duper use right about now.

They also offer up this excellent, citrusy sour cocktail for a crowd, that’s easy to make and oh-so easy to love. The addition of the salt-kissed simple syrup? A clever, tongue-snappy, coastally appropriate, chef’s kiss of an extra.

The Gray Whale Gin Coastal Refreshment Kit is on offer throughout the summer, but if you’d rather amble on down to your favorite local spirits purveyor, Gray Whale is pretty easy to nab these days, although you can definitely pick up a bottle at Springs Wines & Liquor, Amagansett Wine & Spirits and Zabi’s Wines & Spirits. Grab the Gray Whale Summer Refreshment kit here. Cheers to sunny days, friends!
