Something delicious is brewing in Hampton Bays: a brand new outpost of the much-loved local coffee purveyor, Hampton Coffee Company.
With its official grand opening on Saturday, Jan. 25, the 30-year-old business fulfills a long-time plan of opening in the west-of-the-canal hamlet right in time to provide hot beverages and comforting noshables in the midst of one of the coldest Januarys on recent record.

The new café at 31 Shinnecock Avenue fills the space that once held breakfast and lunch spot Pete’s Green Door in Southampton Town’s largest hamlet. “We had been looking to open in Hampton Bays for at least 10 years now … we knew so many of our regulars at our other locations and so much of our staff lived in Hampton Bays,” says Jason Belkin, co-owner with his wife, Theresa, of Hampton Coffee Company.
As with other HCC’s, baking happens fresh daily to supply the morning cravings of East Enders, with the exception of their crumb bake, which comes fresh every day from a baker in nearby Bohemia and always a few cookies and other treats from the non-profit South Fork Bakery, which employs adults with special needs.

The new café has 16 indoor seats and, once the warmer weather arrives, will also offer outdoor seating as well.
“It also seemed like such a great community to get involved in,” says Belkin. “A major part of our company Mission Statement is to be a part of our communities, and there is so much going on in Hampton Bays that we’d love to be a part of. They have such a positive school district and library and a great community togetherness.”
Hampton Coffee Company’s six locations across the East End are open daily, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Christmas Day).
