If cute little Quogue seems quaint and a bit sleepy to you, wake up and smell the coffee — with two new coffee purveyors brewing up some action in town, and both of them within the last week.
Joining their other locations in Water Mill, Southampton, Westhampton Beach, Hampton Bays, Montauk and Aquebogue, Hampton Coffee Company opened their newest location at 48 Quogue Street this past week in the space that formerly held Beth’s Café.

“We weren’t planning to open a new café so soon after Hampton Bays, which opened a little over a year ago, but the building’s owner asked us to see the space and we ended up falling in love! says Edythe Collins, marketing and public relations manager of the family-owned East End coffee company.
With a grand opening on May 30, the company owned by husband and wife team Jason and Theresa Belkin, free drinks were doles out on the first day along with light bites. True to their mission, they also added a community fundraising component to the day, and managed to pull in over $500 to donate to the Quogue School Parent Teacher Association, and are planning other community give-backs, with not-for-profits like the Quogue Wildlife Refuge earmarked.
Like their other cafés, the Quogue locale will serve breakfast, brunch and lunch daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will feature items such as omelets, breakfast burritos, morning pastries, char-grilled burgers, a menu of Mexican grill food, lobster rolls and more, in addition to traditional espresso bar drinks.
Also making the sipping scene in Quogue is a new outpost for Riverhead’s beloved Mugs on Main. The beyond-the-morning café, famed for its broken bacon egg and cheese in a mug and lavish lattés since husband-and-wife duo Kasandra Watkins Schaefer and Jeff Schaeffer opened in 2023, now have a second brew-based location inside Schmidts Country Market at 148 Jessup Avenue. Serving a coffee and pastries daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., they’re now bringing their brand of popular coffee culture to the South Fork.
