Shelter Island’s Gardiners Bay Country Club serves as the setting for the fifth annual Community Cup Golf Tournament this Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., an annual fundraiser which supports youth programming on the East End.

Co-hosted by Project MOST and East End Lacrosse Club — two East Hampton-based nonprofits committed to providing affordable access to enrichment and sporting programs for children — the golf tournament aims to raise $80,000, with the fundraising goal benefitting after-school care, summer learning and sports programs.

“Project MOST and East End Lacrosse Club grew out of the same basic idea: kids in our community should have great places to go, people who care about them, and opportunities to try new things and be part of something bigger than themselves,” say Ricky and Meredith Smith, co-founders of East End Lacrosse Club. “The support from the Community Cup helps us keep creating those opportunities, keep our programs accessible, and make sure more local kids have the chance to play, learn and belong.”

Four sponsorship levels are available for individual and group players alike. Sponsorships are available starting at $500. Single players cost $600 each. In addition to tournament play, this year’s Community Cup will feature a silent auction, offering another opportunity for supporters to contribute to the organizations and their missions. Auction items include original artwork from Carol Hunt, golf swag, surfing lessons, lacrosse camp trips, gift cards to East Hampton’s Main Beach snack hut, Muse at the End in Montauk, the Montauk Project Restaurant, Dive Bar Pizza, Inlet Seafood and Amagansett’s Clam Bar, and more.

Gardiners Bay Golf Club is located at 12 Dinah Rock Road, Shelter Island Heights. To register and to bid in the silent auction click here.
