Bring the whole family and your embrace of all-things autumnal this weekend to Southampton’s 14th annual Southamptonfest. This yearly celebration of the harvest season is a village-wide fête that brings the community together for a full day of fall fun on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Held in Agawam Park at 25 Pond Lane, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is the presenting sponsor, and a portion of the proceeds from the event, and the Friday night Rotary Kickoff Party on Oct. 2, also held in Agawam Park, go to the continued restoration of the 1923 World War I memorial in the park.
“We are delighted to serve as the title sponsor of Southamptonfest and to support an event that brings our community together,” said Emily Mastaler, chief administrative officer at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, in a statement to the press. “We are grateful for the collaboration with the Village of Southampton and other community partners. Our hospital is deeply connected to the people we serve, and being part of the Southamptonfest allows us to celebrate those connections.”

That connectivity will be alive and well in activities like the much-loved annual Chowder Contest, traditional Shinnecock Nation dances from the Boys & Girls Club of the Shinnecock Nation, a sheep shearing demo, the Blessing of the Animals, featured food from multiple Southampton restaurants, live music on the stage in the park from Jester Jim (11 a.m.), Charles Certain and Certain moves (noon), Eastbound Freight (2 p.m.), Bella V (4:15 p.m.), Cat-5 (4:45 p.m.) as well as a petting zoo, bouncy house, circus performances, The Art Nanny, and other fun activities for the whole fam.
In addition, a Farmers & Artisans Market will be in the park all day with over 40 venders selling their wares. Other highlights include:
- Stretch Zone Southampton wellness sessions
- ColorPop Workshop sand candle making
- Crafts and puppies with Southampton Animal Shelter
- Face painting with the Ross School
Local cultural institutions, such as the Peter Marino Art Foundation, Southampton Cultural Center, Southampton Arts Center, Rogers Memorial Library Southampton History Museum and the Southampton African American Museum are bringing some artsy intrigue to the mix as well. The Chamber of Commerce, Southampton Village Fire Department, Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance, Southampton Village Police Department and local ocean rescue lifeguards will be on hand, too.
The Friday night kick-off part with Southampton Rotary is from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door and include beer, wine and light bites. Get your tickets here.
