From brand-new 2025 releases to held-back treasures from years prior, this crop of new releases from the North Fork and South Fork has something delicious (and local!) to sip for everyone. There’s much to explore from Long Island’s excellent producers, from crisp whites like sauvignon blanc to layered reds like merlot, cab franc and petit verdot, to palate-expanding, off-the-beaten path grapes like auxerrois, carmeñere, semillon and albarino, or versions of your favorite grape fermented in steel, barrel or concrete. Bedell Cellars

2025 Sauvignon Blanc, $36

100% sauvignon blanc. Wild yeast fermented in stainless steel tanks. 1,000 cases made, tk% abv. 

2025 Albarino, $38

100% albariño. Wild yeast fermented in stainless steel tanks. 480 cases made, tk% abv.

2022 Musee, $85 51% petit verdot, 24% cabernet franc, 13% malbec, 12% merlot. Wild yeast fermentation; aged in TK oak for 16 months. 400 cases made, tk% abv.

2022 Malbec, $38

100% malbec. Wild yeast fermentation. Aged in oak tk oak for 15 months. 645 cases made, tk% abv.

Corey Creek Tap Room

2025 Auxerrois, $28

100% auxerrois. Wild yeast fermentation in stainless steel tanks. 100 cases made. 12% abv. 

2025 White Cabernet Franc, $34

100% cabernet franc. Skins stripped and wild yeast fermentation of the juice in stainless steel tanks. 190 cases made. 12% abv. 

2025 Salt-Air, $34

100% Sauvignon Blanc. Wild yeast fermentation in barrel. Aged in 62% neutral oak and, 38% new oak. 111 cases made; 11.8% abv.

2025 Cabernet Franc, $35

90% cabernet franc, 10% viognier. Wild yeast fermented. A blend of concrete amphora and neutral oak aging. 100 cases made; 12% abv.

Coffee Pot Cellars

2019 Merlot, $24.99

100% merlot. Winemaker Adam Suprenant, who just completed his 40th vintage on Long Island, chose an extended maceration on the skins to produce this balanced wine with a concentrated core of black cherry fruit, silky tannins and a long finish. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels (23% new). 144 cases made; tk% abv.

2019 Meritage, $28.99

50% merlot, 30% petit verdot, 10% cabernet franc, 10% cabernet sauvignon. A Bordeaux-style red wine, heavy on the petit verdot for an extra jolt of structure and depth of flavor. Aged 18 months in French oak (23% new). 241 cases made; tk% abv.  

Lenz Winery

2017 Cuvee, $45

100% pinot noir. Hand-picked, cluster sorted. Stainless fermented and aged on the lees for six years (yes, you read that correctly!) for intense complexity 12% abv.

2019 Old Vines Chardonnay, $35

100% chardonnay. Hand-harvested. Extended maceration after crush with fermentation in large, neutral oak barrels to allow the fruit’s true expression to come through. Winemaker Tom Spotteck says the warm dry summer and autum teases out flavors of aprlicot, nectarine and orange cream. 196 cases made; 13% abv.

2019 Old Vines Cabernet
Sauvignon, $60

92% cabernet sauvignon, 6% malbec, 2% petit verdot. Full-bodied and velvety on the tongue, with notes of licorice, black plum and raspberry. Aged 22 months in French oak. 266 cases made; 13.3% abv. 

2019 Old Vines Merlot, $70

93% merlot, 7% petit verdot. Open-barrel fermented with daily punch-downs for maximum, gentle extraction of color and tannin. Aged two years in French oak. 322 cases made; 13.4% abv.

Macari

2024 “Horses” Cabernet Franc, $32

A 100% cabernet franc, de-stemmed and gently pressed, this is a lightly bubbly “petillant natural” style wine with a flip-cap closure. 431cases made, 11.4% abv.

2024 “Horses” Red Blend, $32

40% cabernet franc, 26% merlot, 26% malbec, 8% petit verdot. Winemaker Bryon Elmendorf lets this undisgorged red-blend version of their popular pet nat sit on the skins for six hours to veer into the darker side of rosé here. 302 cases made, 11.9% abv.

2025 “Early Wine” Chardonnay, $24

100% chardonnay. Macari’s annual answer to nouveau. Picked in the beginning of the season to retain high acidity and made in a low-intervention style to show the purity of fruit and a peak into this vintage’s expression. 422 cases made, 12/2% abv.

2023 “Dos Aguas” Red Blend, $40

50% merlot, 26% cabernet sauvignon, 20% cabernet franc, 4% petit verdot. Reminiscent of a right-bank Bordeaux blend that lingers for 18 months in both seasoned and new (about 9%) French oak. 1,719 cases made, 13% abv.

2022 “Bergen Road” Red Blend, $75

41% merlot, 31% cabernet franc, 19% cabernet sauvignon, 9% petit verdot. Top release, only produced in the best vintages (past Bergen Road years produced include 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2020, 2021). Aged between 15 and 22 months in seasoned and new (30%) oak. 1,477 cases produced, 13.8% abv.

2022 “Alexandra” Red Blend, $85

48% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 16% malbec, 10% petit verdot. Macari’s other top-tier release (named for winery matriarch Alexandra Macari). Aged 15 to 22 months in both seasoned and new (28%) French oak. 1,021 cases produced, 14% abv.

Medolla Vineyards

2010 Merlot, $40

100% merlot. John Medolla is all about taking his time, as represented by his trio of 2026 releases, ranging from 10 to 16 years old. Each one, made by winemaker Tom Spotteck, is aged in 100% neutral French oak. Tk cases, 13.5% abv. 

2012 Merlot, $25

90% merlot, 10% petit verdot. Aged in neutral French oak. Tk cases, 13.5% abv.

2016 Merlot, $30

100% merlot. Spotteck chose to add a little oomph to the ’16 by pressing it over the skins of petit verdot grapes. Tk cases, 13% abv.

Osprey’s Dominion

2024 Cabernet Franc Rosé, $30

92% cabernet franc, 8% cabernet sauvignon. Made by winemaker Robin Epperson McCarthy in the vin gris style (aka, a very pale rosé that employs minimal skin contact). 100 cases made, 12.1% abv.

2022 Reserve Malbec, $45

98% malbec, 2% merlot. Made by winemaker Robin Epperson McCarthy, who racked off this floral red using gravity only. 25 cases made, 12.2% abv.

2024 Fume Blanc, $30

100% sauvignon blanc. Specifically selected clone of sauvignon blanc that becomes gorgeously expressive after aging in barrel for 7 months. Winemaker Robin Epperson McCarthy, who is a bit of a sauvignon blanc whisperer. 105 cases produced; 13.3% abv.

 N/V Bayman’s Harvest, $25

65% riesling, 20% gewurztraminer, 10% chardonnay, 4% pinot gris, 1% sauvignon blanc. Off-dry and an excellent accompaniment for local briny seafood options. 704 cases made; 10.1% abv. Part of the revived “Artist’s Series,” featuring an original watercolor by  artist Melissa Hyatt on the lable.

Paumanok

2022 Rosé de Pinot, $65

100% pinot noir. This sparkling spends two years en tirage (on its spent yeast cells, or lees), creating a creamy texture to complement the bubbles. 60 cases made, 12% abv.

2021 Blanc de Chenin, $65

100% chenin blanc. Paumanok put chenin on the map on Long Island, and this sparkler just shows more of why it’s a stand-out grape for the winery. Three years en tirage. 225 cases made, 12% abv.

2025 Melon de Bourgogne, $28

100% melon de Bourgogne. Winemaker Kareem Massoud once again looks to the Loire Valley for inspiration (where wine from the grape is labeled as muscadet) in this stainless-steel fermented, oyster-loving white. 220 cases made, 12% abv.

2025 Minimalist Chenin Blanc, $55

100% chenin blanc. This low-fi, low-intervention, spontaneously fermented white is always a stand-out. 134 cases made, 11% abv.

2025 Minimalist Chardonnay, $48

100% chardonnay. Spontaneously fermented and aged in large, 500 liter neutral oak puncheons, a wine for chardonnay purists and devotees. 134 cases made, 12.5% abv.

2024 Minimalist Cabernet Franc, $55

100% cabernet franc. Spontaneously fermented and aged in large, 500 liter neutral oak puncheons. 136 cases made, 13.5% abv.

2025 Minimalist Sauvignon Blanc, $40

100% sauvignon blanc. The lovely 2025 vintage and choice of picking time made this version of sauv blanc a little fleshier and gorgeously aromatic. Spontaneously fermented. 222 cases made, 13.5% abv.

Palmer

2025 Albariño, $36

100% albariño. Continuing Palmer’s tradition of making excellent versions of this northwest Spanish grape. 400 cases made, 12% abv.

2025 Old Roots Chardonnay, $40

100% chardonnay. Produced from some of the region’s oldest vines, thus low-yielding and in small production. Aged in neutral 500 liter puncheons. 207 cases, 12.5% abv.

Pellegrini

2019 Merlot Reserve, $49.99

100% merlot. Picked exclusively from the Cutchogue vineyard’s “West” block for that spot’s particular fruit expression, character and quality. Aged in French oak for 22 months with a mix of 15% new, 35% second and third year and the rest neutral. 247 cases produced, 13% abv. 

Raphael Vineyards

2025 Pinot Grigio, $21

100% pinot grigio. Long-time winemaker Anthony Nappa gives PG a good name with his deep knowledge of Italian whites and many years working with how such grapes express themselves in Long Island. This is the first 100% pinot grigio they’ve released in several years (the prior few had it blended with muscat due to lower yields). Hand harvested and spontaneously fermented. 900 cases made, 12% abv. 

Saltbird Cellars

2022 Harbinger, $40

84% merlot, 11% petit verdot, 5% cabernet sauvignon. The excellent 2022 vintage in a snapshot of a beautiful red blend. Fermentation in egg-shaped concrete fermenters was chosen to encourage gentle extraction from the ripe fruit and added to the balance of texture. Aged 15 months in barrel, with a significant portion dedicated to new oak. 150 cases made, 13.8% abv. Gold medal winner at the New York Wine Classic. 

2021 Merlot, $30

100% merlot. This vintage veers toward the black-fruit side of this lovely red grape. Picked in mid-October and cold soaked to draw out color and aromatics to best effect; a decision by owner-winemaker Robin Epperson McCarthy that garnered a gold medal at the New York Wine Classic. 167 cases 13.5% abv.

Sannino Vineyard

2024 Carmenere, $100

100% carmenere. More well-known in Chile, Anthony Sannino may well be the only winemaker on the eastern seaboard making a pure version of this red. 95 cases made, 13.1% abv.

2023 Prima Rosa Blend, $30

70 % merlot, 15% cabernet franc, 15% cabernet sauvignon. 24m in 30 new French oak, OAK?, 200 cases made, 12.8% abv.

2023 “Sorellina” Red blend, $35

75% cabernet sauvignon, 25% cabernet franc. A special release from the Sanninos, this is the first wine under full control of their youngest child, Ava Grace Sannino, who just graduated with a degree in viticulture and enology from Cornell University. “It’s a lighter style red blend,” she says. “I’ve always been involved in all the stages of winemaking, but this one I got to spearhead.” And, fitting with her position in the fam, means “little sister” in Italian. 24 months in French oak (30% new). 125 cases made, 12.2% abv 

Suhru

2024 Suhru Lagrein, $55

86% lagrein, 5% malbec, 4% syrah, 4% cabernet franc, 1% cabernet sauvignon. Winemaker and owner Russell Hearn uses his well-honed talents to add just the right bits of vinous seasoning via small percentages of malbec, cab franc, cab sauv and syrah to accent this latest release of lagrein, a northern Italian grape variety that they’ve adapted for Long Island and made their own. Aged 6 months in a combination of French oak and stainless steel. 276 cases produced, 11.9 % abv.

Rose Hill Vineyards

2025 Concrete Blonde, $48/bottle 

98.8% sauvignon blanc, 1.2% semillon. Winemaker Patrick Caserta stretches beyond the usual sauvignon blanc playbook. Employing the musque clone of for this rich, extracted beauty, the juice is fermented on the skins in Burgundy-produced concrete eggs, where it lingers for an extra near half a year before bottling. 312 cases made, 13.6% abv.
