Finley's Fiction on Shelter Island is open for holiday shopping this December. (Photo credit: Amy Zavatto)

You just can’t go wrong gifting a book. It’s the kind of veering on tailor made kind of gift that keeps on giving — from the second a reader cracks the spine to the last sentence, and beyond. Books are ingested, discussed, shared. Over here at Southforker, they are definitely some of our favorite things to bestow on those we care about.

That’s why we really liked the approach that Finley Shaw took for this month’s Feed Your Read. She didn’t just pick five great reads; she picked books that she’s excited to give and why she wants to give them. Take a cue from Shaw — or better yet, hop on a ferry and visit her sweet little shop for some stellar recs for those on your list. Happy holiday reading!
