Does anyone else feel like the weekend buzz hasn’t really stopped since Labor Day? We all love a good fall season — weather’s been great and there’s far less people — but it’s pretty amazing how much autumnal-themed activity is getting crammed into each and every weekend. This one coming up is no different and we’re more than ready!
Cinephiles can file into a couple of our local movie theaters for some Hamptons International Film Festival action or head to Shelter Island to pumpkin-spice up your fall festival-going. This weekend sees a handful of book signings (including a special book release event party in honor of Levain Bakery’s new tome) and art exhibitions, plus a special talk about how female scientists helped to shape the East Hampton Nature Trail. If you aren’t into all this fanatical fall-themed business, go to Bay Street Theater for a performance from 3 Decades Rewind, a classic rock tribute band that plays some of the most iconic songs from the past.
Also, the Old Whalers’ Church is hosting its annual Blessing of the Pets this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on their front lawn (44 Union St. in Sag Harbor). We already know all dogs go to heaven, but an extra blessing for Fido can’t hurt.
