And now with the end days of summer upon us, and the dust has started to settle, those of us still here are finally able to. There’s a palpable calmness in the air since the big, bad Labor Day came and went, and our roster for fun this weekend reflects that.

Birds of prey take Bridgehampton
The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center brings some of its remarkable raptors to Marders (120 Snack Hollow Road, Bridgehampton) for “Birds of Prey,” a special afternoon program giving attendees the opportunity to meet rescued feathered friends. Set to occur from 1 to 3 p.m., visitors will learn more about the birds, their unique characteristics and the important role they play in the local ecosystem.
Gear up for Gershwin classics at LTV
Hamptons JazzFest hosts Arcoris Sandoval and Steve Wilson duo at LTV Studios (75 Industrial Road) in Wainscott this Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Additionally, on Sunday Sept. 13, identical twin musicians Will Anderson and Peter Anderson return to the South Fork with a multimedia program at LTV celebrating the work of George Gershwin. Together with friend and collaborator Dalton Ridenhour on piano, the Anderson Brothers entertain guests with a range of musical instruments and improvisations to showcase and interpret Gershwin’s classics. Doors open for the performance at 3:30 p.m. and tickets are $40 for general admission.
Make it to the Montauk Seafood Fest
The Montauk Seafood Festival returns this weekend, co-presented by the Friends of Erin and Kiwanis Club of East Hampton. Set for this Saturday and Sunday, the seafood fest will feature about 10 different restaurants and vendors offering up some of their seaside faves. Runs noon to 5 p.m. both days on the village green in the center of town. $5 admission, cash only.
Tour through the homes and gardens of Southampton
Southampton History Museum hosts “Insider’s View,” a tour of Southampton homes and gardens, this Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing through 6 p.m. Set for various locations across the hamlet, things kick off at Halsey House & Garden, located at 249 Main St., in Southampton. A post-tour reception, sponsored by Sant Ambroeus, will be at the Rogers Mansion (17 Meeting House Lane) from 4:15 to 6 p.m. For tickets and more information, click here.
Hunt for treasure at Havens Beach
Group for the East End hosts an explorer’s group and scavenger hunt at Havens Beach in Sag Harbor this Sunday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. A family-friendly event, the walk explores the coastline for beach treasures and allows opportunity to learn about the creatures we share the environment with. Havens Beach is located on Havens Beach Road, off of Bay Street.
Head to the Hamptons Business Expo
Southampton Arts Center (25 Jobs Lane, 631-283-0967) will host The Hamptons Business Expo on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Kicking off with a yoga class and sound healing led by Yudy Arias and Cindy Ospina, as well as a morning Charm Bar by Belise Accessorios, the expo officially starts at noon, bringing together local businesses and the East End community for a day of networking, wellness, shopping, art, food and live entertainment. Highlights will include live painting by Mile Melo and a salsa concert featuring Nick Corredor and his orchestra, La Herencia.
Get funky at Guild Hall
The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreation Center’s Black Film Festival comes to East Hampton’s Guild Hall (158 Main St., 631-324-0806) this Sunday afternoon, sure to be full of film, music, celebration and plenty of funk. Showcasing the film We Want the Funk!, a syncopated voyage through the history the musical genre featuring the sounds of James Brown, George Clinton, Labelle and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. A special screening party follows, to celebrate the birthday of The Center’s Executive Director, Bonnie Michelle Cannon. Event will run from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $25.
