House proud

Built in 2022, this home in the North Woods enclave underwent a complete renovation this year.

“The house had been completely re-imagined and has now achieved its potential to be a standout in this area,” says Lori Lambert of the Zellman-Lambert team at William Raveis Real Estate, who is representing the listing. She emphasized her notes on the listing, saying the home’s renovation was the “embodiment of a unique architectural vision by a prominent design-build pioneer.”

What’s the plan?

The entry into the grand foyer is defined by 25-foot cathedral ceilings and the flow in and out of the home is assisted by European low-profile sliding glass walls. Anchoring the open-format dining and living room—a combined 1,352 square feet—=is a bespoke plaster-finished masonry wood-burning fireplace. A glass-walled mezzanine showcases the upper-floor walkway, reached by a floating staircase, at the top of which is a 267-square-foot loft. The home is unique in having two junior primary suites on the first level, one with its own fireplace and sliding doors to the back yard.

At nearly 450 square feet, the primary bedroom “really does define a primary suite with multiple options for use,” says Lambert. It has a private deck, a dedicated changing room, four closets and an accessory room that can be a sitting area or office. The 207-square-foot bathroom features dual sink vanities and commodes, radiant-heat floors and a custom stonework bench in the shower.

The finished lower level includes a 355-square-foot state-of-the-art home theater, 162-square-foot fitness studio and laundry room.

What’s cooking?

The sleek and spacious eat-in kitchen is finished with light but warm wood toned rift-sawn white oak cabinetry topped with quartz counters and finished with European-imported fixtures and artisan millwork. The appliance suite includes Miele, Sub-Zero and Thermador, with double dishwashers. The center island has an integrated range and seats four.

What else?

There is a grandfathered-in accessory structure that Lambert says can be converted into a studio for yoga or art, or an office.

  • Outdoor kitchen
  • 20 x 40 heated gunite swimming pool
  • Pool house with full bathroom and sauna
  • Wood-burning fireplace

One cool thing (or two)

The mezzanine-style walkway, with its glass railing, is ideal for displaying artwork, as the current owner has done, that can be seen from the first floor.

Agent’s callout

“This is a very contemporary home, but not cookie cutter,” says Lambert. “It has a modern, clean, open feeling, but at the same time really is unique. I don’t see anything else like this out here.”

Location, location, location

Lambert says the home, at the end of a cul de sac, is very quiet and private, yet just a short distance—less than three miles—from the conveniences of East Hampton Village. Also nearby are LongHouse Reserve, the art-installation and garden reserve open to the public and that will be hosting Luminosity, its annual Summer Benefit, on Saturday, July 12; the Maidstone tennis and golf clubs, and the Wiborg, Egypt and Two Mile Hollow beaches.
