Sag Harbor Village has its burger joint back.

Earlier this month, chef Laurent Tourondel reopened his beloved burger operation in the old whaling village, LT Burger, in its old location (62 Main St., 631-899-4646), in what was El Tacobar for the past two years.

Classic American comfort foods reign here as the menu boasts nine specialty burgers and sandwiches, ranging from classic beef, chicken, turkey, fish and veggie. The only noticeable difference from the original’s iteration is the burger patty, now in skinny, smash burger format.

Burgers can be customized from the almost half dozen additional toppings available, plus five special sauces, if so desired. Diners can also choose one of the three specialty burgers (LT Backyard, Route 27 or Smashed Blue). A duo of chicken sandwiches (spiced or crispy), a turkey burger, a brown rice/black bean veggie burger and a spiced Montauk tuna steak sandwich round out the mains. Don’t forget the fries: skinny, sweet potato, tots, or cheesy and curly.

Starters include fried dill pickles, kicka** wings (tossed in either buffalo or barbecue and served as six or a dozen), cornflake crusted chicken nuggets and a trio of salads, which can be topped with five additional protein options. Eight milkshakes, both classic and signature, are available for those looking to amp up their beverage as are Rated “R” milkshakes, for those looking for a literal liquid (and boozy) dessert.

While the refreshed space includes several subtle but effective improvements for the chic, quick-serve and kid-friendly eatery, like a prominent, designated to-go pick-up space and better lighting, perhaps the greatest addition are the newly refurbished (and infinitely more comfortable) swivel chairs at the bar… that is now zinc-topped, a change kept from the initial El Tacobar reno. Orange is still the signature color at LT, it’s just dialed back a bit — and for that we are grateful.

LT Burger is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and until 10 p.m. Saturday through Sunday.
