January, as we all know, is truly a time for setting goals.
No matter what your promise to yourself may be for this month, and potentially for the rest of the year, acts of self-care should come first and foremost. Here in the Hamptons there’s a heap of weekend events that promote just that, ranging from physical activities to more cerebral affairs.
In Sag Harbor, head to Grenning Gallery on Saturday as a new show, aptly titled “Self-Care,” showcases myriad self portraits of artists, both local and international. At the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, there’s a drumming workshop designed for individuals suffering from dementia.
Potentially painters can learn how to mix colors at Southampton Arts Center and Drag Bingo at LTV promises to offer good, wholesome fun for all ages. Finally, don’t forget to check out an ongoing series of workshops focusing on natural remedies with Stony Brook Southampton’s FoodLab.
Remember, Southforkers, no matter who you are, no matter what you do, no matter how much money (or how little) you have, if you don’t have your health you don’t really have much of anything at all.
