Dry isn’t just for January, but, for a lot of us resolution makers, thinking about some easy health tweaks is a not-uncommon way to start the new year on a good foot. But with the recent report released by the United States Surgeon General, warning of the connection between alcohol consumption and cancer, some of you might be thinking about making some changes, small or large, to how cocktails fit into your lifestyle.
Fortunately, more and more restaurants and bars are including non-alcoholic or low-abv options on their menus. Even better, they’re sophisticated if simple nature elevates the experience beyond Shirley Temples for grown-ups or just plain ol’ seltzer.
Case in point: Lulu Kitchen & Bar (126 Main St., Sag Harbor, 631-725-0900) loves to play with flavor everywhere on the food and cocktail menu, even when alcohol isn’t in the picture. With pomegranates at their peak right now in markets, this bright, refreshing, zippy sipper is a great option for enjoying what’s in your glass, minus the alcohol.
