As August presses onward, most South Fork spots are getting extra artsy, event-wise for this weekend. In addition to the slew of art exhibitions and openings, there are several author talks, panel discussions and live music happening across the Hamptons. It’s also a celebration of the great outdoors, as a handful of locals collaborate for a kayak along marshland on Shelter Island and a local garden center hosts an outdoor film screening and then a lecture on houseplants.

The pressure’s on to enjoy the last licks of summer, whether you like it or not! Take the edge off if you’re in Montauk, as Bluestone Lane is serving up some free espresso martinis. Also, don’t forget to hit up Sticks and Stones Comedy Club for a few light laughs. Laughter, after all, is the best medicine you can get.
