Smell like the breeze off Gardiners Bay and the oak trees in Mashomack Preserve all year long with “Shelter Island”, the new scent from Bond No 9.
Bond No. 9 describes the new cologne, a blend of wood-derived perfume ingredient our and algae extract, as “jaunty, sparkling-clean, decidedly unisex.”
“Like Shelter Island itself, it hints of nonchalant exotica. The starter notes are fresh and sparkling citrus zest and freshly ground black pepper; together they deliver a decided punch,” Bond No. 9 said of the perfume. “Then comes a segue into seemingly contradictory mid-notes: soft and beckoning white lilies accompanied by bracing and briny algae extract. Imagine a garden by the sea. That’s the effect here.”
“Shelter Island” was released on Memorial Day and is available at high end department stores and fragrance boutiques (100ml, $260; 50ml, $195).
But what we Northforkers notice most about Shelter Island is Bond No. 9’s erroneous claim that “the East End is now fully perfumed” because they also offer a Southampton, Montauk and Sag Harbor fragrance.
We believe they might be missing an area.
