It’s officially fall, people! And we’ve got a full roster of fun to be had across the Hamptons. Remember, if that nor’easter does in fact touch down here in the Hamptons, some of the fun may be rescheduled, so keep that in mind as you navigate your plans for the weekend. Stargazing and story time with Hampton Library
Hampton Library in Bridgehampton hosts stories and songs from your favorite children’s librarians Thursday, Sept. 24, at Bridge Gardens (36 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton). Be sure to bring blankets, folding chairs or mats to sit on. This story time will be held as long as weather permits. Starts at 3 p.m. Later on, Matt Pappas, a highly praised earth-space science professor at Suffolk County Community College, will present a lecture and Q&A exploring the threat of asteroid impacts. If it’s clear, attendees will be able to head outside to look through a telescope at the celestial objects in the evening sky. Runs from 7 to 8 p.m.
Test your trivia knowledge
Think Inc. Trivia hosts brain-teasing trivia nights across the Hamptons. Tonight, they’ll be at Townline BBQ (3595 Montauk Highway, Sagaponack) from 7 to 9 p.m. On Friday, they’ll be at Union Burger Bar (40 Bowden Square, Southampton for Bingo starting at 7 p.m. On Sunday, find ‘em at The Hedges in East Hampton (74 James Lane) beginning at 5 p.m. $10 a player and up to 5 players per team.
Play, creatively, at the Parrish
Imagination Play Project popup is this Sunday at the Parrish Art Museum (279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, 631-283-2118) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free drop-in workshop is for kids of all ages and abilities, gathering together to participate in creative play in the museum’s Pasculano Studio. Led by play curator Linda White, the workshop offers an opportunity for kids to build with both conventional and unconventional materials as well as natural objects.
Laugh, on two occasions, at Bay Street
This Saturday, Bay Street Theater (1 Long Wharf, Sag Harbor, 631-725-9500) hosts “Ha Ha Hamptons” Comedy Tour, returning to the Sag Harbor locale for its fourth year. Starting at 8 p.m., the performance features national headliner Bob Nelson along with three very funnymen: Tom Daddario, Andy Pitz and Paul Anthony. Tickets start at $44. Also at Bay Street, to keep the comedy comin’, on Sunday there’ll be a screening of The Birdcage at 4 p.m., part of Hamptons Pride’s film series. $10 per person.
Shop vintage in Westhampton Beach
Hamptons Vintage hosts a market filled with one-of-a-kind treasures in Westhampton Beach on Sunday. Attendees can shop a curated group of vendors showcasing a good mix of vintage fashion, rare designer finds, independent designs, handmade goods and much, much more. Set for this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the WHB Village Green (on the corner of Mill and Main Streets). NOTE: This event has been rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 4!

Explore two exhibits at Duck Creek
Last chances to see two exhibitions at the Arts Center at Duck Creek in Springs is this Sunday. First is “Second Nature,” the group exhibition currently on view in the John Little Barn. The exhibition explores landscapes, featuring works from Andy Harris, Elisa Jensen, Kate Salke, Charles Yoder, Felix Davey and Francine Fleischer. In the Little Gallery, it’s “Pam Brown: Bound by Wire and Time,” featuring Brown’s skeletal, artifact-like sculptures constructed from wire, sheet metal and salvaged materials. Duck Creek will be open today, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Free to enter.
Kids get the night out with OFVS
Join Our Fabulous Variety Show in East Hampton for a fabulous Kids’ Night Out! Because we know they work so hard and deserve a night off! Send them to us and we will watch fun movies, enjoy snacks and pizza and also create some hands-on crafty things! Give your kids (and yourselves) a super fun night out without breaking the bank or hunting high and low for a reputable babysitter! Starts on Saturday, Sept. 26 and runs once a month through May. Available for students in grades 1 to 5. Students in grades 6-8 can apply to be student leaders for community service and students in grades 9-12 can apply to be teaching assistants for $17-20 per hour. $225 for the full-season camp, $30 to drop-in. There’s a $10 fee for late pick ups.
Get a little history in East Hampton
All are welcome to join Preservation Long Island and the East Hampton Historical Society for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dominy House and workshops of some of Long Island’s most celebrated craftspeople and the Hook Windmill led by preservationist Bob Hefner. This special tour is on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 73 North Main St. in East Hampton.
Repair your things on Shelter Island
Shelter Island Public Library (37 North Ferry Road, 631-749-1575) hosts a Repair Cafe, where common household items can be brought in for repair rather than being thrown away.
