Well, we made it to Labor Day folks.
While most prepare to celebrate the unofficial end of summer, we here in the Hamptons know that this is in fact the most wonderful time of the year. Between the barbecues and beach days, it’s easy for summer to slip through your fingers, but don’t despair: we are actually entering the best month with far less people, stress and aggravation.

And also, may be more importantly, cheers to all the people that are working hard all around you. The ones who wait on you, make your coffee, look after your kids, build your homes, drive you around, clean your houses, cook your food, cut your grass and keep this area, and lots of things in your lives, running. They’re probably working all weekend.

The 5th Annual Northforker Wine & Food Classic
The weather calls for clear skies tonight, making for a perfect evening of dozens of local food, wine and fun by vines at Northforker’s 5th Annual Wine & Food Classic held at Borghese Vineyards (Borghese Vineyards, 17150 Middle Road, Cutchogue). Ronnie’s x Babe’s mashup
This weekend, Ronnie’s — Kith founder and CEO Ronnie Fieg’s first independent restaurant — brings its most sought after elevated New York style dishes to Babe’s in Sag Harbor. All weekend long, starting tonight and continuing through Monday, Sept. 7, diners can enjoy three Ronnie’s classics: The OG (Ronnie’s take on the classic burger), The Wagyu Pronto (an elevated pastrami sandwich), and the Crispy Catch (a refined interpretation of the fish sandwich). Babe’s is located at 51 Division St. and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Catch a flick at Marders
Marders in Bridgehampton (120 Snake Hollow Road, 631-537-3700) continues its “Films on the Haywall” series, with a screening of David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook Friday from 9 to 11 p.m. Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to bring a beach chair, blanket and picnic.
Monte Carlo Night comes to Southampton
Operation International hosts 29th annual gala “Monte Carlo Night” on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons in Southampton. Inspired by the legendary casinos of Monaco, the evening will bring together supporters for a night of philanthropy, glamour, and excitement in support of Operation International’s work providing free medical care in underserved communities worldwide. Individual tickets are $225, $2,200 for a table.
Bonkers in the Boroughs hits Bay Street
The world premiere of Joy Behar’s newest show, Bonkers in the Boroughs, is at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor (1 Long Wharf. 631-725-9500). Featuring four short plays starring Behar and a cast of talented friends, the comedy is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Randal Myler continues Friday at 8 p.m., with two performances at 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $89.99.

Sanford Biggers and summer jazz
All are welcome to a gallery tour and talk led by Sanford Biggers, exhibiting artist of “Sanford Biggers: Drift,” along with chief curator Corinne Erni at the Parrish Art Museum in (279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, 631-283-2118) on Friday at 6 p.m. Biggers’ exhibition features new textile works, prints, sculptures and site-responsive installation. $30 for adults, free for members, students and children. On Sunday, Sept. 6 starting at 5 p.m., it’s the final concert of this year’s Summer Jazz on the Terrace series, in collaboration with Hamptons JazzFest. Make to the MountainFilm tour at SAC
The Mountainfilm tour makes its annual stop at Southampton Arts Center this Sunday, Sept. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The screenings (featuring eight films all togehter) will explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission: to use the power of film, art, and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., film runs from 6 to 7:45 p.m., with a brief reception to follow. Tickets are $15 per person.
Artist v. collector at Guild Hall
“Collecting Contemporaries” is on Sunday at Guild Hall in East Hampton (158 Main St., 631-324-0806) starting at noon. Co-presented by BookHampton, the event features collector and philanthropist Glenn Fuhrman and artist Jeff Koons for a conversation exploring ideas, relationships, and experiences that have shaped their engagement with contemporary art. Admission is $40.
Celebrate at Sí Sí
EHP Resort & Marina in Springs gives Hamptons revelers one final reason to celebrate with its annual Labor Day White Party at waterfront restaurant Sí Sí on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. The afternoon will feature a dynamic DJ lineup, with Lohrasp Kansara spinning from 1–3:30 p.m., followed by international DJ Kasango from 3:30–5:30 p.m. The programming is designed to carry guests from a leisurely afternoon by the water into a high-energy celebration, making it an ideal last party of summer.
Let the kids be the judge at LongHouse
Music Beats Cancer presents Thumbs Up for a Cure at LongHouse Reserve (133 Hands Creek Road, East Hampton, 631-329-3568) this Saturday, Sept. 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. Join in for afternoon tea and live jazz in the magical gardens of LongHouse. Kids will ask bold, honest questions to biotech founders developing promising new treatments for pediatric cancers — and kids get to judge their answers with thumbs up or thumbs down. Bringing together families impacted by cancer, biotech innovators, clinical oncologists, biopharmaceutical leaders, healthcare investors, philanthropists, artists, and community supporters — all united by a shared commitment to improving outcomes for children battling cancer — the event features a special performance by renowned, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Yosvany Terry and his ensemble.
