Hey, Southforkers, hey! Today marks the official start of the summer season (all together now, YAY!) and we are totally digging this absolutely fabulous June weather. Amidst all the beach and party-going there are plenty of worthy goings-on this weekend that are sure to satiate all of your summertime cravings.

For art enthusiasts, Guild Hall hosts its beloved Clothesline Sale this Saturday, while a there’s an opening reception for a summer long exhibition on Shelter Island. Plus, the 2nd annual East Hampton Art Affair, an outdoor art festival hits Herrick Park this weekend, starting at 10 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. If it’s music you seek, LTV Studios features both sitar and cabaret-style performances while Southampton Arts Center hosts the OG DJ Hollywood at a summer soul bash.

If you’re feeling a little frisky look no further than Kizzy T’s (47 Montauk Highway, East Hampton) for their “Summer Send Club Night,” happening tomorrow, June 21, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. featuring DJ Weez. Entry is free, but friendly reminder: don’t drink and drive. If it can happen to Justin Timberlake, it can certainly happen to you. Other activities include dancing, book talks, health and food discussions, a pop-up shopping experience and an open house for a local volunteer ambulance.

Try to support that last one. Afterall, they’ll be the first ones to be there to help when something dangerous (or really stupid) happens.

Talk ticks and dance in Hampton Bays

Today at noon, all are welcome to the Hampton Bays Public Library for a Zoom on ticks and tick-borne disease. Jerry Simon, assistant professor at Stony Brook Medicine and member of the medical advisory panel of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Regional Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center, will speak about the types of diseases that are carried by the different species of ticks found on the East End. He’ll also discuss symptoms, diagnostic tests and treatment options that are available. Bachata for beginners is at the library tomorrow starting at 4:30 p.m.. All are welcome to join in to expand dancing skills originally from the Dominican Republic. No partner necessary!

Take in a couple of concerts at LTV

“Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea,” a musical concert series at LTV Studios in Wainscott, features performances from some of the world’s best cabaret and Broadway artists. On Saturday, June 22, it’s “The Song is You,” with Anna Bergan performing along with pianist Phil Hall, beginning at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door. On Sunday, June 23, at 6 p.m. LTV’s “World Voice” series presents “Music for the Soul” with sitar maestro Ustad Shafaat Khan. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Click here to grab yours.

Go to a volunteer ambulance team’s open house

Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance hosts an open house on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at 18C Ponquogue Ave. in Hampton Bays. Attendees can meet staff and volunteers, tour the headquarters and equipment, learn about the junior programs (designed for those ages 14 to 17), learn tbe benefits of becoming a volunteer all while enjoying light bites and activities. Party and see a play at SAC

Southampton Summer Soul Party is tomorrow, June 21, at the Southampton Arts Center. Slated for 6 to 11 p.m., the party will include dancing, an open bar, raffles, a raw bar and hors d’oeuvres, 360-degree photo booth and a fashion show by Southampton’s own Grayson Stokely. Music be from DJ Hollywood, with saxophonist Ashely Keiko, violinist Bri Blvck, R&B singer Tezz Cart’r and rapper Lady Najm. Tickets are $75 per person. On Saturday and Sunday, see Jay Presson Allen’s play, TRU, at 7 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. Set inside writer Truman Capote’s New York City apartment on Christmas Eve, 1975 the play is from the legendary writer’s own words and works, particularly his unfinished novel Answered Prayers that put him in hot water and ostracized him from New York’s high society. Directed by Will Pomerantz and read by Patrick Christiano, tickets are $20, $25 for members and are available here.

Promote and support NY food systems

“An Evening of Possibility” is at LongHouse Reserve this Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. in East Hampton. Presented by Project EATS — an organization that creates community-based food systems across New York State— there’ll be a discussion between artist and founder Linda Goode Bryant along with Thelma Golden, director and chief curator of the Studio Museum in Harlem. The event at LongHouse will include light bites and a silent acution to support Project EATS. General admission is $50 and you can buy yours here. On Sunday, it’s the two-hour Larsen Salon series in honor of LongHouse founder Jack Lenor Larsen at 3 p.m.. Sunday’s talk will feature author, potter and interior decorator Jonathan Adler. Tickets are $35, $25 for members.

Celebrate community at The Parrish

All are welcome to the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill for “Community Day: Savor the Summer” this Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.. This free arts and food festival designed for adults, children and families includes film screenings, art workshops, art talks, guided gallery tours, bilingual tours, live music and food trucks on-site. Attend a book talk at BookHampton

On Saturday, Brooke Lea Foster discusses her latest novel, All the Summers In Between, at BookHampton at 5 p.m. in East Hampton. Foster’s story explores the friendship that develops between a wealthy girl summering in the Hamptons and a hardworking local girl set in the 60s and 70s. This event, dubbed “Friendship and Secrets” will be led by Foster, who will also be on hand to sign copies of her book. Click here to register.

See sculpture at Sylvester Manor

Don’t miss the opening reception for Sylvester Manor’s inaugural outdoor exhibition, “Sculpture @ Sylvester Manor” slated for 2 to 5 p.m. this Saturday. Located at the circle lawn on the Manor grounds on Shelter Island, the exhibitions will include sculptures, installations and artistic expressions from a wide range of local East End artists and is slate to be on view until September 8. Take time for local art at Guild Hall

Guild Hall’s Clothesline Sale will take place this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Main Street location. A time-honored tradition now for nearly eight decades, the sale provides the community with accessible artwork while supporting local artists who live here. Works range in price from $75 to $3,500. All proceeds are split 50/50 between the artist and the East Hampton locale.   On Sunday at 2 p.m., Guild Hall hosts a talk featuring artist Anne Buckwalter and curator Matthew Nichols. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition “Ted Carey: Queer as Folk,” the talk will explore how Buckwalter and Carey share roots in southeastern Pennsylvania while addressing gender and sexuality in their paintings. This program is recommended for ages 18 and older and is set to take place inside Guild Hall’s Boots Lamb Education Center. Admission is $15, $10 for members. Buy your tickets here.
