Pitch Your Peers is a female-led collective nonprofit organization, originally founded in Greenwich, Conn., providing grants in support of hyper-local charities across the nation. Founded by Hamptons resident Brooke Bohnsack in 2016, PYP has funded over $2.5 million in grants, giving to over 40 nonprofits.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, the organization’s Hamptons chapter, Pitch Your Peers Hamptons (founded in 2023), will hold its Annual Pitch Day at LTV Studios (75 Industrial Road, Wainscott, 631-537-2777), during which several East End women (dubbed Grant Champions), all with the goal of identifying and trying to provide for unmet needs throughout the community, will make the case for their respective nonprofit to be awarded the People’s Choice Award grant money. Each nonprofit leader will speak for a maximum of 15 minutes to a room full of their peers, which will end with a five minute Q&A.

PYP members will cast votes, ultimately deciding the winner. The nonprofit with the most votes will be awarded $1,000.

Here are the eight pitches and the nine women behind them:

  • Nancy Atlas, Atlas for the Arts
  • Theresa Roden & Alyssa Channin, i-tri
  • Meredith Arm, Share the Harvest Farm
  • Kate McEntee, Southampton Fresh Air Home
  • Alicia Sullivan, South Fork Bakery
  • Marit Molin, Hamptons Community Outreach
  • Terie Diat, Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry
  • Joan Overlock, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center

The event is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m., is open to the public and all are welcome, but only PYP members are able to vote. If you’re not a member, you can become one and cast your vote the day of for who you think should be awarded the $1,000 grant. RSVP to [email protected] or by clicking here.
