Montauk Brewing Company‘s now-signature, laid-back, come-as-you-are attitude is making its way up the island, in the form of a second taproom in downtown Port Jefferson.

A ribbon cutting occurred this past Wednesday at the beloved brewery’s brand-new locale, an 800-square-foot taproom and brewpup located at 22 Mill Road.

“Port Jefferson, with its classic, easy-going coastal village charm, really felt like a natural fit, and we are dedicated to bringing the high-quality experience and brews we provide on the East End to Port Jeff,” says Montauk Brewing co-founder Vaughan Cutillo.

Longtime fans of the beer as well as first-timers will be able to sip on Wave Chaser IPA and the Surf Beer along with summertime faves like Summer Ale, Watermelon Session Ale and Summer Sour.

“We started Montauk Brewing Company because we wanted to share the spirit of our hometown with everyone,” Cutillo says. “This new location is a testament not only to that original goal, but to our fans and partners who have helped us grow beyond the doors of our red barn.”

Originally started in 2012 by Cutillo Eric Moss (who served as the original brewmaster) and Joe Sullivan — all friends who grew up together in Montauk — Montauk Brewing Co. is now owned by Tilray Brands, Inc., an American pharmaceutical, cannabis-lifestyle and consumer packaged goods company, headquartered in New York City. That deal was closed in late 2023, with Tilray acquiring100 percent ownership of Montauk Brewing for a total of $35.11 million.
