As we quickly navigate through the shortest month of the year, and with Valentine’s Day fast approaching (by the way, gentlemen, if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out these Hamptons spots to take you lovely ladies for a night of wining and dining), there’s a lot of fun to be had across the South Fork.
From a week-long series of classic western films to live West African jazz music to a new exhibition featuring the works of local high school students, this weekend pulls out all the stops for top-notch entertainment sure to keep you toasty.
The third installment of Sag Saturdays is this weekend throughout Sag Harbor, centered around the “Sag is Love” theme and including special events and shopping deals across the village. Click here to see what’s up. Additionally, this weekend sees a plethora of V-Day inspired activities, from art exhibits and crafts to a special murder mystery-themed dinner party on Shelter Island.

Get your game on in Montauk
Learn to play a new game (or an old favorite) at Montauk Library (871 Montauk Highway, 631-668-3377) today. All are welcome to bring a favorite game to share: chess, Scrabble, Boggle, trivia, card games, board games, brain games, you name it. A great opportunity to put down the screens, have some fun, meet new people, and exercise our brains. Starts at 2 p.m. and continues until 4.

Go see classic westerns in Sag Harbor
“Go West: The Sixties” is the latest week-long film series at Sag Harbor Cinema (90 Main St., 631-725-0010) starting this weekend and showcasing classic western films from the 1960s. Kicking off tomorrow, Feb. 13, are two screenings of, “Lonely Are the Brave” starring Kirk Douglas and featuring a special intro by Bill Collage, and “Ride the High Country” starring Randolph Scott, both from 1962. Screening at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, Feb. 14, see “Gold of the Seven Saints,” starring Roger Moore from 1961, at 2:15 p.m., while “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance,” starring the Duke himself, John Wayne, screens at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday night, catch “The Wild Bunch” at 7:30 p.m. Director John Ford’s “Two Rode Together” is on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2:15 p.m. while Sergio Leone’s “Once Upon a Time in the West” screens at 5 p.m., with a special introduction from Alex Gibney, done via Zoom. “The Shooting” screens on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. and if you’re still kicking around after the weekend is over, “El Dorado” directed by Howard Hawks hits the screen on Monday, Feb. 16, at 4:30 p.m.

See a new exhibit at WACH
Tomorrow, it’s the opening of “Pathways,” the latest exhibition on at the Women’s Art Center of the Hamptons (2418 Main St., Bridgehampton, 631-899-4253) and featuring abstract works (ranging from paintings, ceramics and fiber) from Carol Hunt, Deborah Luken, Joan Lurie, Jane Martin and Amy Genser. A reception will be tomorrow from 4 to 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Find out whodunit on Shelter Island
On Friday, a murder mystery dinner,”‘Til Death Do Us Part,” is at Rams Head Inn (108 South Ram Island Drive, Shelter Island, 631-749-0811) beginning at 5:30 p.m. The evening will include a 30-minute welcome beer and wine open bar with passed appetizers. Next is the murder mystery two-course dinner. Dressing up is encouraged, but not mandatory. Tickets are $95 per person, before tax and gratuity. See works from local students at The Church
Pop-up exhibition “Sag Harbor: In Process” is at The Church (48 Madison St., Sag Harbor, 631-919-5342). A celebration of works from the Pierson High School intensive workshops, featuring work by Sag Harbor teens created at The Church, an opening reception is tomorrow from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The exhibition will be on view through Feb. 23. Additionally, on Saturday, there’s a Concert of Dedications — Per Te (For You), with music composed by Roberto Scarcella Perino beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30, $25 for members.

Hear exotic jazz music in Bridgehampton
The Winter Jazz Fest continues this Sunday in Bridgehampton with Hamptons JazzFest hosting Yacouba Sissoko and Merhnam Rastegari. Set for 4 p.m., at the Bridgehampton Museum, inside the Nathanial Rogers House (located at 12539 Montauk Highway) the concert will feature traditional West African and Persian string music with kora player Sissoko and kamancheh player Rastegari. Through solo pieces and shared performances the pair’s program offers audiences a uniquely close and focused listening experience. Tickets are $20.
