Theatrics is the name of the game for this weekend.
Whether you’re looking for a delightfully blunt exploration of the human condition, a radio play on a classic horror story or are looking to get into all the festive holiday feels, theatrical performances run amok across several Hamptons locales this weekend.
As usual, live music is a hot-ticket item, too, as popular Hamptons hubs like the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett , LTV Studios in Wainscott and Montauk Library get ready to rock, offering musical stylings ranging from folk and jazz to rock and pop.
If you’re looking for new business, pop by Guild Hall in East Hampton for the first episode of their sure-to-interest “Innovators Talk Show,” where how to build better business practices will be the discussed with exec director Andrea Grover and branding consultant Malcolm Carfrae.
Finally (and a friendly reminder), October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In observance of this, there are a slew of East End events happening in the upcoming weeks, particularly the 26th annual Shelter Island 5k Run/Walk set for this Saturday. Here in the U.S., about 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Research needs all the help it can get, so maybe, for this weekend, instead of buying pumpkins, or Halloween stuff, or whatever other little piece of plastic thing that you probably don’t need, head to The Rock and walk around for an hour or so. It’ll be a good use of $50.
Remember what the brilliant mathematician John Nash said: “The best for the group comes when everyone in the group does what’s best for himself AND the group.”
