Oktoberfest is something of a misnomer in these parts. The celebration of all things Bavarian culture (especially beer) began in 1810 as a royal wedding celebration, but is now held annually in Munich, and mostly held in September, not October.

The reason? It’s a good one — September weather is warmer. In 2025, the festival officially runs in Munich from September 20 to October 5 and will include parades, rides, traditional food, gigantic beer tents and plenty of live outdoor music.

However, on the South Fork, restaurants and breweries are hosting smaller Oktoberfest celebrations that, thanks to indoor heating, can take place throughout both September and October. Diners and imbibers can raise a glass or giant pretzel (or both) and say “pröst!” to good food, brews and times at these six Hamptons Oktoberfest celebrations.

Rowdy Hall is one-upping the folks in Munich by adding an extra day to its Oktoberfest celebration, which is hallmarked by a German beer tasting and special menu. Tasting flights include a trio of 10-ounce pours ($16) and $8 pints of Oktoberfest beers. A two-course prix fixe ($42) meal will change throughout the two-week stretch but is slated to include the greatest hits, including apple strudel, bratwurst, potato pancakes and molten black forest cake. Daily specials include Bavarian pretzels with house-made beer mustard.

Jamesport Farm Brewery, 5873 Sound Ave., Riverhead, 631-779-2133

When: Saturday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Oct. 6 (Riverhead)

This Riverhead farm is also making like Munich, turning Oktoberfest into a multi-day affair with live music on the weekends, German-style food specials at food trucks on-site daily and a first taste of the Oktoberfest and Hefeweizen beers. Oktoberfest trivia and other competitions will also happen throughout the festival. Pröst-worthy P.S.: If you’re on the North Fork, stop by the Manorville post at Long Island Farm Brewery from Sept. 23 to Oct. 5 for similar deals and deliciousness.

When: Saturday, Oct. 4, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. (21+ after 6 p.m.)

Long Ireland may exude Irish pub vibes. But the brew pub will once again go all in on Bavarian culture for its 9th annual Oktoberfest celebration. Oktoberfest and Pumpkin Ale will be the featured beers. Key-tossing, stein holding, and beer boot competitors will get the competitive juices hopping. Celebrators are encouraged to don their best Oktoberfest regalia and lederhosen. Word to the wise: Those who bring boots and steins from previous years will snag refill prices from brew one. Prost!

When: Saturday, Oct. 11 to Sunday, Oct. 12

Details are a bit scant, but a little birdie at Kidd Squid reveals the brewery plans to host another Sagtoberfest. Last year’s (intentionally) spilled into the space Kidd Squid shares with Sag Harbor Garden Center, and that will be the case once again this year. What else we know: there will be beer specials, including this year’s Sagtoberfest — a Helles Fester Lager. Pumpkin pie beer “Pump Daddy” and the chai-spiced Chai Harder will also be on tap and pair perfectly with the available pretzels, oysters, lederhosen and live music.
