If you’re a sucker for sushi, you should head to Seven Beach Lane, a boutique hotel in Westhampton Beach, on Saturday, June 28, for the first-ever Hamptons’ stop for the National Tuna Tour.

Now in its second year, the 13-stop national tour kicked off the Yes Chef Food Fest in Brooklyn earlier this month, while additional stops were added in southeast Florida and the Hamptons. Spearheaded by Sushi by Boū, an exclusive and signature 12-course omakase speakeasy experience with locations across the country, the tour not only ranks high among the must-attend culinary events of the season, it also highlights the unique craftsmanship of chef David Bouhadana, Sushi by Boū’s founder who holds the distinction of being the first non-Japanese chef to receive Japan’s prestigious grade 1 tuna cutting certification, according to a press release from the eatery.

During the live demonstration portion of the event, the chef will break down a whole 200-pound Bluefin tuna. In addition to the impressive live carving show from Bouhadana, the event will also include the chance to try some of the freshest tuna nigiri available, served edomae-style, as well as a sake toast. Tickets to attend are $125 for general admission. A cash bar will be available for additional drinks. $150 gets guests a VIP experience, which includes a front row seat to the tuna carving, plus the chance to get behind the sushi counter alongside master sushi chefs, plus photos with Bouhadana.

“Westhampton Beach wasn’t originally on the Tuna Tour, but when the demand came in loud and clear, we knew we had to make it happen,” Bouhadana says. “There’s something magical about bringing a 200-pound Bluefin to life in front of a crowd — watching it transform from whole fish to perfectly sliced sashimi, all while the sake flows and the music plays. It’s a celebration of craft, energy, and community — and we’re thrilled to share that with Westhampton.”

Seven Beach Lane (7 Beach Lane,Westhampton Beach, 631-684-0777) hosts the event from 1 to 4 p.m. If you can’t make it to the tuna tour later this month, be sure to hit up Sushi by Boū’s Hamptons location at 32 Mill Road A (on the second floor of Sydney’s “Taylor” Made Cuisine) in Westhampton Beach.
