Ideally, Pride is a 365-day affair. However, rights — to love who you love, to live how you live and identify and to simply exist — can get treated like privileges in courts of law and state and federal legislatures.
The annual passage of Pride Month in June is about more than rainbow gear, flags and parades. It’s a reminder that the LGBTQ+ community is comprised of our family, friends, neighbors, people we know and people we don’t — who do, indeed, have a right to exist and live fully. Perhaps it also includes you. So, the pride parades will get loud, proud and colorful — as they should — and call attention to the need to call LGBTQ+ rights what they are: Human rights that we all deserve.
Celebrate, advocate and become more aware at these Hamptons Pride events in 2025.
Hamptons Pride Parade, June 7
The fourth annual Hamptons Pride Parade begins at noon on Main Street in East Hampton, with celebrations slated to rage on until around 4 p.m. in Herrick Park. Marchers will follow Grand Marshal and writer, director and actor John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig & The Angry Inch and Shrill). Onlookers will get to enjoy performances from Mitchell — a Tony award-winner — plus DJ Watts and Bridgehampton Marimba Band. You can register to march and view the whole parade route here.
Hamptons Pride at the LongHouse Reserve, June 21
Hamptons Pride will host its annual fundraiser at LongHouse Reserve, a living, breathing tribute to art with gardens, sculptures and installations. And, on June 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., it will come alive with music and dancing courtesy of DJ Watts and The Lynn Blue Band. Wine, beer and lite bites will be served. A “Served with Pride” auction will appropriately feature local artists like Robert Wilson and Dan Welden, who have created artwork from serving trays. Can’t attend? Submit an absentee ballot here. So in? Purchase tickets here. Either way, proceeds benefit Hamptons Pride’s 365-day efforts to support the LGBTQ+ community and their allies on the East End.
Randy Rainbow: National Freakin’ Treasure at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, June 21
The title only scratches the surface of Randy Rainbow (real name). The Emmy and Grammy-winning comedian, writer, producer (and more), Randy Rainbow, is loved for his web series, The Randy Rainbow Show. However, Rainbow, who showed his serious side when he described growing up in the LGBTQ+ community in his memoir Playing with Myself, will be on stage at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on June 21 at 8 p.m. Guests will likely laugh out loud at Rainbow’s proudly campy bits and musical parodies. Get details and tickets here.
Pride Month UpStander Workshop at Riverhead Free Library, June 25
Want to support the LGBTQ+ community in today’s climate — and tomorrow’s — but feel at a loss for where to start? The LGBTQ Network, which has centers across the Island, including Sag Harbor, will be at the Riverhead Free Library from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 25. Members will share ways to stand up for, support and better understand LGBTQ+ people in our communities. A library card is required. Register here before June 25 at 6:30 p.m.

Hamptons Tea Dance at Nova’s Ark, July 12
Pride dances on and extends into July on the East End in 2025. The Hampton’s Tea Dance is an annual celebration of true colors. This year’s event will be of the outdoor variety at Nova’s Ark in Water Mill. Tickets and sponsorship packages are available and support Callen-Lorde’s mission to support the health of LGBTQ+ people — a mission it’s been on since 1969. Get details on how you can show support here.
