If all the gray of winter has been getting you down, not only is Feb. 14 that annual near-end-of-winter occasion to paint the Hamptons red, it’s also on a Friday this year — woot, woot! The list of Hamptons and Shelter Islands restaurants offering Valentine’s Day menus in 2025 (and, importantly, what’s on said menus) also makes a pretty great date night to kick off the weekend. From staycations at local inns with cozy tables by the fire to reliably delicious local restaurants you love all year long, these Valentine’s Day offerings across the South Fork and Shelter Island are ready to turn your winter blues rouge.

Bistro 72, 1830 W Main St., Riverhead, 631-369-3325

The annual summer patio series may seem like ages away — regardless of what the groundhog did or did not see on Feb. 2. Yet Bistro 72, a farm-to-table haven within dual-fork gateway spot Hotel Indigo, is serving up a different kind of warm vibe this Valentine’s Day. A special three-course menu (offered Feb. 13-15 for $65 per person) includes cold-weather fare like French onion soup, entrees including filet mignon and clams with linguini, and apple strudel. Not included (but a worthy add-on): An order off the toast-worthy cocktail menu, appropriately named “Sips of Love,” that has festively-appointed beverages like “Be Mine Moscow Mule” (Modica Vodka, ginger beer, muddled strawberries, lime juice and simple syrup) and “Love on the Rocks” (bourbon, cranberry juice, lemon juice and simple syrup).

The Ram’s Head Inn, 108 S. Ram Island Dr., 631-749-0811

In recent years, glass-is-half-full types have given Valentine’s Day a welcome rebrand, reminding us that love isn’t limited to romance. Enter Galentine’s, Palentine’s and — yes, Dog-entine’s Day. At Ram’s Head, all you need is some kind of love — the inn with a hillside perch on Shelter Island is celebrating all three (plus traditional Valentine’s Day). The package includes a room, chocolate-covered strawberries and dinner for two with wine pairing.

Nick & Toni’s, 136 N. Main St., East Hampton, 631-324-3550

This Hamptons institution is never one to miss a party, and Valentine’s Day 2025 won’t be an exception. An a la carte menu with wine pairings is on tap for Friday and Saturday. Start the celebratory meal in quintessential fashion with a French sparkling Val de Mer Brut Nature and Montauk pearl oysters served with pomegranate citronette. A homemade cavatelli with Alaskan king crab is one possible entrée, and a chocolate hazelnut praline tart with chocolate mouse and caramelized hazelnuts redefines happily ever after.

1770 House. Restaurant & Inn, 143 Main St., East Hampton, 631-324-1770

The 1770 House Restaurant & Inn provides year-round coziness, but a trip here feels especially appropriate when the fireplace is crackling in the winter. This Valentine’s Day, the restaurant helmed by longtime chef Michael Rozzi is offering a three-course dinner ($125 per person). Ordering the house-cured Scottish salmon with Ostera caviar will put you on the fast track to impressing that special someone. Seafaring dishes feel savory courtesy of seasonings — sourdough crumbs for the Maine lobster and a smoky, creamy cashew romesco for the pan-roasted black sea bass. Dessert choices include the sticky-date and chocolate-hazelnut brownie cake. Diners can pair dishes with wine selections hand-picked by wine director Michael Cohen for extra.

Baron’s Cove, 31 W. Water St., Sag Harbor, 844-227-6672

This marina-front Sag Harbor hotel conveniently re-opens on February 13 and has no plans of missing the love boat. The three-course Valentine’s Day menu offered on February 14 and 15 will include starters like a housemade crab cake. Split a 16-ounce chateaubriand for two with your sweetheart, or have the lobster ravioli with limoncello crème sauce and Montauk red prawns all to yourself. After dessert — a chocolate lava cake, perhaps? — pairs can retreat to a room instead of heading home. A package includes the aforementioned three-course menu, an overnight stay, breakfast and chocolate-covered strawberries (among other perks).

Almond Restaurant, Almond Restaurant. 1 Ocean Road, Bridgehampton, 631-537-5665

Unlike other restaurants on this list, Almond’s Valentine’s Day menu is a one-night-only affair. It’s Feb. 14, reservations or bust at this French-leaning eatery. The menu stays true to Almond’s bistro-inspired roots — think with a twist dishes like fried oyster sliders and Hudson Valley steelhead trout with kicky bearnaise and seasonally appropriate Brussels sprouts. Beignets for two for dessert? Oui.

Léon 1909, 29 W. Neck Road, Shelter Island Heights, 631-749-9123

The open-fire cooking show and soft lighting immediately set the stage for romance here, now that Léon 1909 is reopen again after their early winter break in January. Add a menu inspired by the coasts of France and Italy, and it’s a recipe for a special kind of dinner-date destination. Mums the word on this year’s Valentine’s Day menu, but with a focus on fare from two of the most romantic countries in the world, it’s unlikely to disappoint.

Canoe Place Inn, 239 E. Montauk Hwy., Hampton Bays, 631-736-6300

Guests can reserve a dinner or weekend staycation — whatever makes your heart go pitter-pat. A Valentine’s Day menu is on tap for Feb. 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The three-course prix fixe deal ($105 per person) includes celery root soup with seared scallops — a warm take on a seafaring classic. Savory mains include wild mushroom risotto and braised short ribs. The desserts are arguably the star — house-made ice cream or sorbet, warm doughnuts or chocolate mousse with strawberries. Guests can tack on wine pairings for an additional $40. Speaking of add-ons, staying for two nights will net you 15% off a bottle of vino.

Long Island Aquarium, 431 E Main St., Riverhead, 631-208-9200

Kids have their traditional card hand-out in school. Adults? We have Chocovino, a cherished Valentine’s Day tradition that returns this year on Feb. 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Indulge in the power couple that is chocolate and wine (actually, it’s a five-course dinner with a side of aquatic animal views). Each course includes chocolate — which should be a daily thing — with a pairing from Raphael Vineyards. Couples can book a “sweetheart sleepover” at the neighboring Hyatt Hotel.
