Robert Frost said, “In three words, I can sum up everything I have learned about life: it goes on.” And while these wise words from the late, great American poet are absolutely true, between Daylight Savings, Election Day and the fact that we’re having delightful yet somewhat disturbing 70-degree weather in November, it’s understandable if you’re more than ready to be totally done with this whale of a week. We’re feeling pretty crispy, too, so to welcome the weekend with arms wide open, we’re opting for a little intellectual self care.

Lucky for us, this weekend is absolutely chockablock full of cool and interesting happenings all across the Hamptons sure to stimulate or (dare we say it) tickle your smarty bone. Attend a talk on native plants and pollinators in Bridgehampton, learn about how to avoid online scammers in Quogue or take a tour through a historic craftsmen museum in East Hampton.

If you want something a little more chill but still cerebral, hit up a reflective gathering in Sag Harbor on Sunday or pack up the kids and haul ’em on over to Amagansett for a build-you-own-lantern workshop and walk through Amber Waves Farm. However you choose to spend your weekend, don’t forget to keep you head up, people! Put down the Skeeter Davis album, open your windows and try to enjoy every moment of sunlight you can. And remember, it’s only about six weeks or so until the days start getting longer.
