Dragon Hemp Apothecary is ready for its theatrical close-up.
For the third year in a row, Dragon Hemp, led by owner and founder Kevin Menard, is partnering with the Hamptons International Film Festival (which begins this Friday), specifically as a sponsor of the “Air, Land, and Sea” signature program, which showcases films that highlight both global and local environmental issues.
This year, HIFF will screen the Sag Harbor-based apothecary’s own brand-new, 30-second commercial that seeks to not only highlight holistic wellness central to the ethos of the brand, but also environmental awareness. The commercial, inspired by “Surf and Sea” as well as local ecoculture, and slated to open the “Air, Land, and Sea” program, according to a press release from Dragon Hemp, features local surfer and SagTown coffee owner Shane Dyckman and is directed by documentarian Jasper Rischen. The commercial will additionally serve as the opener for the “Views of Long Island” signature program. For a description of the films to be screened, click here.
“It is the continued support from partners like Kevin and Dragon Hemp that inspires us to find new ways to connect to our community of filmmakers and enthusiasts with local businesses that share our passion for environmental awareness,” says Anne Chaisson, executive director of Hamptons Film.
Next Wednesday, Oct. 9, the wellness brand will also be offering an exclusive sneak peek of their latest product and addition to the already existing “Sleep Collection”: Sleep Gummies+, at an exclusive and interactive pop-up set to occur during the festival’s fundraiser for South Fork Sea Farmers — a local nonprofit that promotes marine stewardship. “As a brand that takes seriously the craft of alchemy in creating exceptional experiences, we are excited to be a more dynamic and impactful part of the festival this year,” says Menard. “We are proud of the responsibility we have in participating in and supporting more global conversations around the health and wellness of nature, in all its forms.”
