As we roll into a new month today, South Fork locales are offering some serious entertainment expertly executed for your viewing and listening pleasure. Among the myriad musical performances at a number of Hamptons haunts, this weekend’s performances include a celebration of the songs of beloved (and “de-lovely”) composer Cole Porter, reggae night with Winston Irie and classics-meet-honky-tonk tunes with Gene Casey and his Lonesharks.
If it’s a more singular sensory experience you seek, be sure to swing by Guild Hall in East Hampton for Sam Green’s sound-focused screening of his documentary, “32 Sounds,” or scoot on over to LTV in Wainscott for its first ever fundraising event: the multi-media, multi-faceted Printaganza gala.
Art talks, book signings, more movie screenings and a five-decade old arts and crafts show are also on the docket for this weekend’s festivities and if you’re in Amagansett, be sure to check out the 6th Annual Dog Show at the American Legion Post 419 right on Montauk Highway. Destined to be a day of fun for the whole family, awards will be given to Best in Show as well as other subcategories. Because, let’s face it, if any of us should be getting an award around here for surviving the summer for this long, it should be our four-legged, furry friends. That’s the doggone truth.
