This weekend, the hunt is on as several South Fork businesses, organizations and farms host Easter-themed events aimed to entertain both kids and adults alike. Petting zoos, a farm festival, and plenty of egg hunts are just some of the happenings on tap for Saturday and Sunday, as locals bust out their Easter best for some fun-filled, family-friendly amusements.
In Bridgehampton, the Hampton Library will have its annual egg hunt this Saturday, April 8th, starting at 10 a.m. on the front lawn. Participants will be split into same-age groups and venture around to the library’s backyard in search of some egg-cellent surprises. All you have to do is bring your own basket! On Saturday, April 8th, the Sag Harbor Garden Center on Spring Street hosts a petting zoo featuring farm animals from Sagaponack’s Green School. Beginning at 1 p.m., there’s fun to be had by both adults and kids as they’re all welcome on the grounds of the garden center, located behind Main Street Sag Harbor. In collaboration, the garden center’s next door neighbor Kidd Squid Brewing Co. will be launching their newest craft beer for the month of April, aptly dubbed “Hare Moon.” Guests can peruse and shop in the garden space, have a beer, pet some animals and enjoy some Easter-themed specialty baskets. Kids under 12 are welcome to an egg hunt at Claude’s Restaurant at the Southampton Inn on Sunday, April 9th, at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for an hour-long meet and greet until 11 a.m.. Claude’s is located at 91 Hill Street in Southampton.
Hudson’s Helping Hand’s 3rd Annual “Spring Shindig” is Saturday, April 8th, at Corwith’s Farmstand from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.. There will be a visit with the Easter Bunny plus an egg hunt in the fields of the farm located at 851 Head of Pond Rd. in Water Mill. The shindig will include plenty of outdoor activities on the farm, where guests can meet farm animals, participate in spring crafts and enjoy on-premise food trucks and live music. St. Gabriel’s Meadow Preserve on Shelter Island hosts an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 8th, beginning at 1 p.m. sharp. Located at the corner of Cartwright and Burns Roads, the property consists of nearly eight acres of grassy open field with a row of tulips and cedar and maple trees along the perimeter. Perfect for an egg hunt! Rain date is Sunday, April 9th. Same time, same place.
The Hampton Bays 2nd Annual Great Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 8th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Good Ground Park at 9 Squiretown Rd. Sponsored by the hamlet’s chamber of commerce, there’ll be a slew of activities including raffle drawings, a DJ, a dance party, plus photo ops with the Easter Bunny. The egg hunt is slated to start promptly at 11 a.m..
