Guild Hall (158 Main Street, East Hampton) is pleased to announce they will host renowned astrophysicist and captivating speaker, Neil deGrasse Tyson, on Sunday, August 18 at 7 PM.
Known for his popular series “StarTalk,” and author of 15 books, Tyson holds 23 honorary doctorates and the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, the highest award given by NASA to a non-government citizen. Tyson served as Executive Science Editor and on-camera Host & Narrator for “Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey,” the 21st century continuation of Carl Sagan’s landmark television series, which won four Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, and two Critics Choice awards.
On August 18th at Guild Hall, Tyson will bridge the intersection between science, pop culture, and comedy with clarity, humor, and passion and will illuminate the wonders of the cosmos with his unique blend of scientific insights and engaging storytelling. Previous captivating subjects he has presented have included space travel, extra-terrestrial life, the Big Bang theory, the role science plays in people’s lives, the future of our earth and the environment, the science behind the most iconic sports plays in history, and breaking news from the universe.
