About

Co-Sponsored
by Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt (FLPG) and South Fork Natural History
Museum (SOFO).  Join FLPG and SOFO on a leisurely-paced hike through
open-field trails. The Native American fishing tribes are given credit for the
naming of this moon, since sturgeon were most readily caught during this month.
A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the moon rises, it
appears reddish through any sultry haze. Leader: Jean
Mc Dermott, 631-599-239.  RSVP: [email protected].
